“The wine dinner on 12 June was a great experience for me, as the organization of the restaurant's resources was of a very high order, with glassware, service, and setting all ideal. I especially appreciated the private room for the pre-dinner tasting, and even though we were not able to project vineyard information or photos, I felt that everyone who attended got a sense of what we were trying to accomplish with the Insignia blend.
The dinner itself was well-executed, and it was again clear that the service team's efforts harmonized well with the kitchen's, and that the menu was carefully developed alongside, and including, the wines. I felt that the people attending were enthusiastic about the restaurant, and impressed with the wines. They listened, asked questions, and were very generous in their praise.
The restaurant itself is a treasure, a beautiful historic building, with fine appointments and equipment. I got a genuine sense of family commitment not only from Daniel and his family, but also from the attendees, who seemed to share the family sensibility of the restaurant, and sincerely want it to succeed. I felt a great deal of pride from the members of the community, whether next-door neighbors to the restaurant, or folks who traveled many miles in the pursuit of fine food and wine. I'd love to experience the restaurant in its normal evening setting and cuisine!
Daniel Le Boon himself is an energetic, passionate chef, who, though clearly achieving something special with his cuisine and wine program, still retains some un-chef-like modesty, and works hard. His employees struck me as cheerfully dedicated and kind, always looking for ways to improve themselves and the restaurant. I thought Daniel's cooking was truly first-rate, from crab cake to scallop to beef to dessert assortment. My only regret is that I have no detailed record of the courses, as there was, by Daniel's own design, no menu printed.
I am sure there is more to say, and that I was honored to have been treated so well. I get the impression that every guest who dines at Josephine's feels special.”

We just returned from another awesome experience at Josephine's. Chef LeBoon really outdid himself for us. We had made brunch reservations months ago and were unaware that Brunch had been discontinued. Chef and staff catered to us completely and we had the place to ourselves! Honestly, I would have understood if i had gotten a call to say we aren't doing brunch anymore, can we accomodate you another day, but not these people! Their day off became our special day and special it was. They were so generous with their time to make everything wonderful for us. The food was, as always amazing. My elderly mother, a very picky Marylander about crab cakes, loved her food. And she's tough to please...Special items were prepared with love for our younger crowd in attendance without us asking. The crab soup was an enormous hit. My mother, who never says a positive thing about much, said "Now that was so nice!" Chef and staff, we thank you from the bottom of our collective hearts for such a great day. It will be long remembered.
